Donald Trump was named Time magazine’s 2024 Person of the Year, receiving enthusiastic support from Time Inc. owner Marc Benioff, who has owned the magazine since 2018. Mr. Benioff is also the co-founder, chairman and CEO of Salesforce.

“Congratulations, President Trump, on being named the 2024 Time Person of the Year,” Benioff wrote in a post to X. We look forward to working together to advance America’s success and prosperity for all. May G-d bless the United States of America. ”

Benioff shared a video of President Trump congratulating him on the Time Awards at the New York Stock Exchange, and also shared a congratulatory post from Ivanka Trump that read: cover. ”

The magazine named music icon Taylor Swift its 2023 Person of the Year. Trump, who defeated Kamala Harris in this year’s presidential election, will take over the title in 2024. Trump will be inaugurated as president for the second time on January 20th. In a Time magazine profile, Trump doubled down on pardons for some people convicted of crimes related to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

“We’re going to look at each case individually, and we’re going to do it very quickly. That’s going to start in the first hour of my inauguration,” Trump said. “And the vast majority of them shouldn’t be in jail. The vast majority of them shouldn’t be in jail, and they’re suffering severely. And I say, why not other than Portland and Minneapolis? In many places they don’t actually ever do anything. Is it causing a level of death and destruction that we’ve never seen before? If you look at what happened in Seattle, people died, there were a lot of deaths, and nothing happened and these… People have been treated really, really badly. Yes, that’s important to me.”
