The film is a remake of the director’s Telugu film Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, which also starred Shruti Haasan. The film’s music was a hit, despite its average box office collection. However, Girish achieved some recognition and was nominated for Best Debut or Newcomer in three award shows. After this, Girish appeared in only one romantic comedy, Rabshuda, starring Navneet Kaur Dhillon, which was released in 2016. Following the film’s critical and commercial failure, Girish bid adieu to acting. However, due to his pedigree, he was never far from the world of movies.
