Top 10 Netflix titles for the week of December 30, 2024

This was another green light for Squid Game Season 2. The hit Korean drama series remains at the top of Netflix’s Top 10 Non-English TV Shows list, with 58.2 million views that week, making it back into the top 10 in ’93. Ranked #1 in 91 countries. Creator and director Hwang Dong-hyuk’s series also jumped from No. 7 to No. 2 on the list of most popular non-English TV shows. Season 2 of this global phenomenon racked up 126.2 million views in just 11 days. This is a Netflix TV record. Viewers also continued to catch up with Squid Game Season 1, which ranked second on this week’s non-English TV charts with 13.6 million views.

Audiences outperformed TSA with “extra screenings,” contributing to Carry On’s huge success. Jaume Collet-Serra’s thriller Carry On has reached new heights, reaching 149.4 million views in less than four weeks after its release, topping the list of most popular English-language movies. It jumped to 5th place. It also remained at number one on the English language movie list for four consecutive weeks and was viewed 17.4 million times.

And even after her incredible performance on NFL Christmas Game Day, fans continued to pay attention to Beyoncé. Between live shows and standalone specials, Beyoncé Bowl is currently watched by nearly 50 million people worldwide.

On the British TV list, “Missing You” became Happy Harlan Coben New Year, debuting at number one with 21.7 million views and reaching the top 10 in 89 countries. The film adaptation of the bestselling author’s novel is the latest thriller to hit Netflix, with more to come. Also on the list were Virgin River Season 6 (No. 2, 5.2 million views) and Black Doves Season 1 (No. 3, 5 million views).

Meanwhile, La Palma (No. 3, 8.3 million views) followed Squid Game in the list of non-English TV shows. The disaster series also ranked #9 on the list of most popular non-English TV shows. Also, the new international version of Love is Blind, Love is Blind: Germany, came in at number 9 with 1.3 million views.

Tyler Perry’s “Six Triple Eight” remained at No. 2 for another week with 10.8 million views, and the animated comedy “That Christmas” closed out the holiday season in 8th place with 3.8 million views. Two movies scheduled for release in 2024 also appeared on this week’s list. Kevin Costner’s “Horizons: Chapter 1” (7th place, 4 million views) and “Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga” (9th place, 3.8 million views).

In the world of non-English films, Norway’s Number 24 made waves in its opening week, reaching No. 1 with 8.8 million views. It was followed by India’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ (2nd place, 4.2 million views) and Italy’s ‘The Love Scam’ (3rd place, 4.2 million views).

Viewers also spent the last week of the holidays catching up with old friends. For example, non-English TV shows such as Season 1 of Alice in Wonderland (10th place, 1.2 million views) and non-English movies such as Under Paris (8th place, 1.2 million views) It was. million views) is back on the charts. Also on UK TV listings, viewers prepared for The Night Agent season 2 by rewatching season 1 (9th place, 1.6 million views).
