Kelly Campbell, who has led NBCUniversal’s Peacock streamer for the past three years, is leaving the company.
Campbell’s resignation comes about six weeks after NBCU’s parent company, Comcast, announced it was considering spinning off much of its cable network into a separate company, but Peacock It will remain under NBCU, along with the NBC broadcast network and cable flagship Bravo.
An NBCU representative declined to comment.
Campbell joined Peacock in 2021 after several years at Hulu. She led a period of growth for the NBCU streamer, which boasted 36 million subscribers as of Q3 2024 and narrowed its losses over the past year. Peacock also won praise for its full coverage of the Paris Summer Olympics.
She joined Hulu in 2017 as chief marketing officer and was later promoted to president of that streaming service before moving to Peacock. Prior to joining Hulu, Mr. Campbell spent 12 years at Google.
In addition to plans to spin off cable stations CNBC, E!, Golf Channel, MSNBC, Oxygen, Syfy and USA, NBCUniversal announced new responsibilities for top executives Donna Langley and Matt Strauss. . Langley, chairman and chief content officer of NBCUniversal Studios Group, will become chairman of NBCUniversal Entertainment and Studios, while Strauss, head of direct-to-consumer at Comcast, will lead NBCUniversal Media. – Appointed chairman of the group and distributes sports, advertising sales and DTC within his purview.
