A new update for One Piece Season 2 may hint at when the series will make its long-awaited return to Netflix.
One Piece Season 2 has been a hot topic for over a year now as viewers wait for the next part of the live-action adaptation of the manga. Critics praised the series’ ingenuity and called it one of the best live-action anime.
Just two weeks after the release of Season 1, Netflix renewed One Piece for Season 2, with production set to begin in June 2024. Since then, there have been few updates regarding the production.
Netflix’s “One Piece” Season 2 Production Latest Information
X (formerly Twitter) user @pewpiece shared a new development from the production of One Piece Season 2.
The account shared stuntwoman Natalie Walsh’s Instagram Story, which showed her and other One Piece crew members attending a wrap party. This seems to indicate that filming for season 2 has officially been completed, after production on the new season began in June.
When will One Piece Season 2 be released on Netflix?
Filming for One Piece Season 2 has reportedly finished, and the question now is when new episodes of the show will premiere on Netflix.
By the way, season 1 finished filming in August 2022 and debuted on Netflix a year later in August 2023.
If Season 2 follows a similar production schedule, new episodes are expected to be ready to start streaming in about a year, which would be sometime in December 2025.
The One Piece team has been consistently sharing updates from production, and it looks like everything is going according to plan for the new season. This is in line with recent words from star Vincent Regan, who believed season 2 would be ready by Christmas 2025.
Fans can only wait for updates, but assuming there are no delays, One Piece should have plenty of chances to shine throughout 2025 before the Netflix show returns to the spotlight.
One Piece Season 1 is currently available on Netflix. Season 2 has finished filming and is scheduled to premiere in 2025.
