Jammu, December 7: The Heritage School Primary Building here today organized its 20th Annual Sports Day with the theme ‘Sampoorna Shakti – A Celebration of Strength and Skills’.
The occasion was grandly celebrated in the presence of Mr. Shiv Kumar Sharma, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Jammu Samba Kathua Range Police as the chief guest and Mr. Ritu Mahajan, Deputy Commissioner School Education J&K as the chief guest. Ta.
Other dignitaries in attendance included Radhika Sharma, Sunil Gupta, the school’s board chairperson, Dhanwanti Memorial Trust board members, Sunita Gupta, Vishal Gupta and Monica Gupta.
The guests were presented with saplings by four Junior House Principals, and Junior School Principal Ashvika Sambyar gave a welcome address.
The sports day began with the lighting of the heritage torch and hoisting of the school flag by Principal Akash Pradhan and the primary sports achievers.
The Heritage Torch was carried by Primary Wing sports achievers Prashasti Sharma (roller hockey), Yashasvin Singh Leen (roller skating) and Pratyaksh Vir Parmar (swimming).
The procession by students from the four schools – Culture, Tradition, Dignity and Heritage – was led by their respective Junior House Captains, demonstrating discipline and synchronicity.
Mr. Vivan Bhardwaj, principal of the junior high school, administered the sports oath.
The guest of honor then declared the sports tournament open, and balloons rose into the sky.
The day featured a number of activities including track events such as Rainbow Relay, Serving Water, Shape Sorting, Lemon & Spoon, Hula Hoop, Hurdles, Step Along and Roll Along Races.
Great performances such as welcome dance by class I students, yoga show by class II students, dumbbell drills by class III students and exhilarating aerobics by class IV students showcased the skills and physical strength of the students.
The grand finale by Class V students was a powerful fusion of Zumba and Durga dance that captured the essence of Sampoorna Shakti.
Zumba’s rhythmic beat reflects vitality and fitness, while Durga dance embodies courage and strength.
The event concluded with the distribution of prizes, with the winners of the Class III, IV, and I track events receiving medals from the guests of honor, and the winners of the Class II and IV track events receiving honors from the principal.
The chief guest, Mr. Shiv Kumar Sharma, was Initha Chander (IE), Muhammad Affan Sheikh (IC), Kiana Gupta (II B), Guruvansh Singh (II B), Banat Kaur (III B) , Swastika Chaudhary (IV E) and Yuvika Bansal were praised. In his speech, the guest of honor highlighted important aspects that civil society must be aware of, including cybercrime and cyberbullying, especially against children, women and the elderly.

The event ended with the singing of the national anthem.
