A romance nine years in the making.
Their heartwarming love story began nine years ago at a costume party at a senior community in Philadelphia. It was there that their connection blossomed and a deep bond was born. Their journey culminated on May 19th, when they exchanged vows in a heartfelt ceremony at the same senior citizen facility where they first met.
a lifetime of experience
Both Barney and Marjorie had full lives before they met each other. Each had lost their respective spouses, although they had been married for more than 60 years. Interestingly, their paths almost crossed early in life, as they both attended the University of Pennsylvania in their youth. Bernie pursued a career in engineering, and Marjorie focused on teaching.
Despite their rich personal history, fate had other plans and waited until later in life to unite them in a touching story of love and friendship.
memorable ceremony
The wedding was officiated by Rabbi Adam Wahlberg, who spoke about the couple’s journey of love. “Most couples I marry these days meet on some kind of dating app. I much prefer the old-fashioned way of living in the same building, bumping into each other and falling in love,” he says. he told FOX News.
Four generations of Bernie’s family were present to witness the ceremony. Surrounded by their loved ones, the couple exchanged vows under a traditional Jewish chuppah. Bernie and Marjorie, who arrived in wheelchairs, radiated happiness as they embarked on this new chapter together.
