Fans from all over Tamil Nadu, including districts like Erode and Trichy, flocked to Chennai to witness the teaser trailer of ‘Jailaa 2’ at local theaters. The enthusiasm of the audience gathered to celebrate the long-awaited sequel to the 2023 blockbuster The Jailer was palpable. The teaser of ‘Jailer 2’ was screened at select theaters across Tamil Nadu, including prominent theaters like Kamala Theatre, Rohini Theatre, and Vetri Theater in Chennai. Music composer Anirudh Ravichander also attended the screening at Chennai’s Rohini Theater along with fans and the response was nothing short of phenomenal. After the special screening of ‘Jailer 2’ title teaser, Anirudh Ravichander addressed the press and media and was moved by the unwavering support and enthusiasm of the fans for the sequel.
The 2023 blockbuster ‘Jailaa’, which was the first collaboration between Rajinikanth and director Nelson Dilipkumar, became a blockbuster hit, grossing Rs 650 million worldwide. It set the standard for the film industry and became an unprecedented hit. Since its release, no other film has been able to surpass its incredible box office record, cementing its legend as a monumental achievement. Rajinikanth played Muthuvel Pandian, a calm former prison guard who hides a horrific past. Muthuvel is forced to return to action when his son Arjun is murdered while trying to stop a criminal gang from stealing valuable items.
The action entertainer also featured surprising cameos from Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal and Jackie Shroff, while Ramya Krishnan, Vinayakan, Mirna, Yogi Babu and Vasant Ravi played important roles. The shooting of Jailer 2, also known as Hukum Reloaded, is scheduled to begin in April and we can’t wait to see what kind of surprises director Nelson Dilipkumar has in store for fans with the sequel.
