Joe Rogan once humorously criticized Dustin Poirier for choosing Android over iPhone. Experienced UFC commentators may not come across as particularly tech-savvy, but they certainly have distinct preferences when it comes to choosing the mobile operating system they use.
During a February 2021 episode of the JRE MMA show that featured Poirier as a guest, Rogan couldn’t help but poke fun at the former UFC interim lightweight champion. The moment came as Poirier struggled to share photos of his surgery from his Android-based Samsung phone. Logan asked.
“What’s going on with my phone? Do I need help? Maybe I should get an iPhone. It’s that easy.”
But ‘The Diamond’ didn’t care and kept trying to share the photo. When the famous podcaster jokingly asked, “Will I ever get an iPhone?” Poirier was adamant and responded with a resounding “no,” to which Rogan replied: .

“Oh, you’re so passionate about Android phones because people are making fun of you, right? …You’re one of them.”
Logan also questioned the behavior of Android users, noting that those who prefer Google’s operating system are often very defensive about their preferences.
“It’s interesting how obsessed people are with Android. You get Android and you’re like, ‘Fuck you. I’m sticking to my guns.'” And then they cave in. When you do, you actually surrender. Many of them give in. ”

When Dustin Poirier landed a Samsung sponsorship after a conversation with Joe Rogan
A casual exchange between Dustin Poirier and Joe Rogan about cell phone preferences ultimately led to The Diamond signing a sponsorship deal with Samsung.
During an appearance on The Fight with Teddy Atlas in May 2021, Poirier revealed that the South Korean tech giant rewarded him with one of their flagship devices after he expressed a fondness for Samsung phones on Rogan’s podcast. He said that he had sent the department.
“I’m on Joe Rogan’s podcast here and talking about how much of a Samsung fan I am, and they reached out and it was natural because I use the product. And that’s true…That’s why I appreciate these brands because they wanted to align themselves with me.”
