New York, NY — December 9, 2025 — Today, Prime Video released a first look image of Young Sherlock starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin (After Series) as Sherlock Holmes. This thrilling series, brought to life by visionary director and executive producer Guy Ritchie, tells the origin story of Sherlock Holmes in an irreverent, action-packed mystery that follows the early adventures of the iconic detective. Young Sherlock will be available next year exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world.
With all the wit and charm of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes feature films, Young Sherlock follows the origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s beloved detective and explodes into the early days of this iconic character. Sherlock Holmes is a raw, unfiltered, disgraced young man who finds himself embroiled in a murder that threatens his freedom. His first case unravels a worldwide conspiracy that changes his life forever. Set in 1870s Oxford, this series of overseas adventures exposes the early antics of an anarchic young man who has yet to grow up to become Baker Street’s most famous resident.
The previously announced cast for Young Sherlock includes Donal Finn (The Wheel of Time), Jine Tseng (The Three Body Problem), Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid’s Tale), Natasha McElhone (Halo), Max Irons (The Condor), and Colin Firth (The King’s Speech). Guy Ritchie will serve as director and executive producer. The series is written and executive produced by showrunner Matthew Parkhill and executive produced by Dana Gilbert, Mark Resteghini, Simon Maxwell, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Kelton, Colin Wilson, and co-executive producers Harriet Creelman and Steve Thompson. The physical production of Young Sherlock was led by Motive Pictures.
