Industry experts say ICT’s new production facility will provide warranty repair services, inventory management and logistics solutions for Wistron’s laptop manufacturing operations. In January, Wistron signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Karnataka government to set up a laptop manufacturing plant in the state. The company has invested Rs 1,500 crore in this facility and plans to export more than 50% of its production. It was previously reported that construction was expected to begin in July and that production of the laptops would begin by January 2026.
Recently, Wistron acquired a 32-acre land parcel for a high-tech defense and aerospace park in Karnataka’s Devanahalli district for Rs 160 million. The new after-sales production line will be located near the laptop manufacturing facility.
