Ananya Panday and Anushka Sharma once opened about gender disparities in Bollywood. The conversation sparked debate about the urgent need for equality in the entertainment industry.
During a conversation with her film peers, Ananya questioned why male actors receive better cars and larger rooms on set compared to their female counterparts. Anushka shared how she raised the same issue eight years ago, but nothing has changed. She emphasized that even senior female actors are not given the same respect as senior male actors.
While filming outdoors, Anushka noticed that male actors were still given better hotel rooms, even if the hotel had multiple high quality options. She questioned the unequal treatment. Ananya added that she grew up in households that emphasized gender equality.
