Some of Marvel’s biggest movie releases are far away from now, including the two-part conclusion to the Multiverse saga, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, but there’s plenty for fans to binge in 2025. There are still many works to be done. Choose from new Disney+ series like Captain America: Brave New World, Fantastic Four: First Steps, Daredevil: Born Again and Marvel Zombies, and tons of new comics . Enough media for Marvel fanatics.
To make sure you don’t miss anything, here’s a breakdown of everything we know is coming from Marvel in 2025.
MCU’s big comeback
2024 was a year with fewer movies than usual for Marvel, with Deadpool & Wolverine being the only MCU movie released in theaters. Other films from Sony Pictures included Venom: The Last Dance and Kraven the Hunter, but the MCU allowed a mercenary with a mouth to carry a flag in theaters. . That’s all set to change in 2025, with the release of three new movies that will have a major impact on the MCU as the series wraps up Phase 5 and prepares to begin Phase 6.
First up is Captain America: Brave New World, which will be released on February 14th. Brave New World, the fourth film in the Cap series and starring Sam Wilson (played by Anthony Mackie) in the title role, is directed by Julius Ona and follows Sam’s espionage efforts. He becomes Red Hulk in the thriller where he encounters President Hulk, uh, President Thaddeus Ross played by Harrison Ford. We also know that Giancarlo Esposito will play Sidewinder, the leader of the Serpent Society, in the comics, and Tim Blake Nelson will reprise his role from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. The cast also includes Joaquin Torres (played by Danny Ramirez) as the new Falcon, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Sheila Haas as former Black Widow Ruth Bat-Seraf, and Liv Tyler as Betty Ross. .
Next up is Thunderbolts* (yes, the asterisk is part of the title), coming out on May 2nd. Directed by Jake Schreier, this is a new series in the MCU, but primarily features characters that fans are already familiar with. Florence Pugh as Elena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbor as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, and Olga as Taskmaster. Kurylenko forms a team under Valentina Allegra, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. La Fontaine. Louis Pullman is also reportedly set to make his MCU debut as the Sentry. At least on paper, this seems a far cry from the original comic book series’ premise of a supervillain disguised as a superhero, especially since Daniel Brühl’s Baron Zemo is nowhere to be seen, but it seems like a far cry from the original comic book series’ premise of a supervillain disguised as a superhero. You’ll know if you’re taking an opinion. Thunderbolts is coming soon.
Finally, Marvel fans around the world will finally get to see the First Family join the MCU when Fantastic Four: First Steps is released on July 25th. Directed by WandaVision alum Matt Shakman, this reboot of the Fantastic Four series takes the eponymous team to the 1960s. In a retro-futuristic world, you must face off against a world-devouring space god known as Galactus. The cast includes Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Man, Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Thing, Ralph Ineson as Galactus, and Shara Bal as the Thing. Julia Garner plays the role. This version stars Natasha Lyonne (Silver Surfer) in an undisclosed role. Robot assistant Harvey is also expected to make an appearance, and hopefully a tease or cameo from Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.
Outside of the MCU, Sony had multiple Spider-Man spinoff movies lined up for 2024, but none of the upcoming movies have release dates set yet. But there may be a good reason for that. Venom: The Last Dance teases space comic villain Knull as a major character going forward, but Sony has no interest in developing further live-action spin-offs, preferring to focus on the upcoming Spider-Man 4. I recently received a report that. – A male movie set in the MCU directed by Daniel Destin Cretton. We also don’t yet know when the third installment of the Spider-Verse animated trilogy, Beyond the Spider-Verse, will be released, but we hope to get an update on it soon.
marvel tv avalanche
Marvel is preparing all its TV series for 2025, both animated and live-action, so be sure to keep your Disney+ subscription if you don’t want to miss anything. First up is the new animated show “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,” which will premiere on January 29th. Set in a separate timeline from the main MCU, it stars Hudson Thames as a young Spider-Man, mentored by Coleman Domingo, who plays Norman Osborn. Not much is known about the story beyond that, but the concept art we’ve seen so far suggests it will feature a wide cast of Spider-Man’s friends and foes, as well as other Marvel Universe characters such as Doctor Strange. is. , Nico Minoru of The Runaways, and Charlie Cox reprized the role of Daredevil.
Speaking of Daredevil, Marvel fans won’t have to wait long to see Cox return as a live-action character. Daredevil: Born Again premieres on March 4th. The show, a sequel to the Daredevil Netflix series, is not just a return to form for Cox as Matt Murdock, but also for Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, and Foggy Nelson. Elden Henson, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, Wilson Bethel as Bullseye, and Ayelet Zurer as Fisk’s wife Vanessa. Not many story details are known about the series, especially since there were creative overhauls midway through filming, but it will reportedly feature Fisk running for mayor of New York City. We also know that the series has already been renewed for a second season.
Next up is the spinoff series Ironheart, starring Lili Williams, which is scheduled to premiere on June 24th. Set after the character’s debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Dominic Thorne returns as Ironheart, who finds himself embroiled in a showdown of technology versus magic with Anthony. Ramos plays Parker Robbins, aka The Hood. The drama was filmed in 2022, so it took quite a while, but it looks like it’s finally going to happen in 2025. There’s also Eyes of Wakanda, a four-episode animated miniseries spinoff from the Black Panther series. About the Hutto Zaraze, an elite group of Wakandan warriors. The series will be released on August 6th.
Rounding out the TV run is another four-episode animated miniseries, Marvel Zombies, and the live-action series Wonder Man. “Marvel Zombies” premieres on October 3 and is set in the zombie reality depicted in the first season of “What If…?” The series also stars Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, David Harbor as Red Guardian, Florence Pugh as Elena Belova, Awkwafina as Katie Chen, Kate Many MCU cast members will be reprising their roles, including Hailee Steinfeld who plays Bishop. Iman Vellani plays Kamala Khan. Wonder Man, which is scheduled to premiere in December 2025, stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, a psychic actor who is a regular member of the Avengers in the comics. Ben Kingsley will return as Trevor Slattery, who played the fake Mandarin in Iron Man 3, and Demetrius Gross will play Simon’s villainous younger brother, the Grim Reaper.
The only show that could premiere in 2025 and also not from Marvel Studios is Sony Pictures Television’s live-action series Spider-Noir. The show will feature Nicolas Cage reprising his role as Spider-Man Noir from the animated film Into the Spider-Verse, which is currently being filmed. No release date has been set, but if the show finishes as planned, it could premiere on MGM+ sometime in 2025. A second season of X-Men ’97 is also currently in production, so we might see it, but that’s not for sure.
Will we see Marvel games in 2025?
Compared to the film and TV schedule, Marvel looks like it’s going to be a thin year in gaming in 2025 unless there are some surprise announcements. One reason for this is that while several Marvel games have been announced, there have been few updates since then, so it’s hard to tell how far along they are. These include Motive Studio’s Iron Man, Insomniac’s Wolverine, Cliffhanger Games’ Black Panther, and Arkane’s Blade. We also know that we won’t be getting any story DLC for Spider-Man 2, so we’ll have to wait for more news about Spider-Man 3 and the plans for the Venom spin-off game we learned about. From Insomniac leak in late 2023.
One of the games tentatively scheduled for release in 2025 is Skydance New Media’s Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. From producer and writer Amy Hennig of Uncharted fame, this single-player, story-driven game features the Azzurri incarnations of Captain America and Black Panther as playable characters, and takes place during World War II. Inside you will have to work together to fight Hydra. It does not have a specific release date other than a 2025 release window. So I hope we get more specifics soon. And while NetEase’s hero shooter Marvel Rivals is already available, it will be a live service game with regular seasonal content updates throughout 2025, including new heroes, maps, and costumes.
Marvel’s Biggest Comics of 2025
As if Marvel’s 2025 lineup of movies and shows wasn’t enough, they’re also making a big splash in comics. Their big focus for most of this year has been One World Under, a major crossover that explores what happens when Doctor Doom becomes the new Sorcerer Supreme and declares himself Emperor of all worlds. It would be Doom.
Launching in February, One World Under Doom’s core book is a nine-issue series from Fantastic Four writer Ryan North and Powers of X artist RB Silva. The series sees the Avengers reunite and rally to stop Doom, while also grappling with the fact that many in the Marvel Universe are happier living under Doom’s rule. We’ll also see this status quo play out in many other spin-off series and ongoing comics, including North’s Fantastic Four and Joe Kelly’s The Amazing Spider-Man.
Marvel will also continue to bet big on a new Ultimate Universe in 2025. In January, Chris Condon and Alessandro Cappuccio’s “Ultimate Wolverine” premiered, along with “Ultimate Spider-Man,” “Ultimate X-Men,” and Ultimate. The Ultimate line will also have its first major crossover event in summer 2025.
As 2025 begins, there are other big stories worth paying attention to. Marvel is set to launch an All-New Venom series that will pair the symbiote with an all-new host, while Eddie Brock himself becomes the new Carnage. Many big changes in the X-Men series as Marvel continues to announce new titles as part of the “From the Ashes” storyline and build towards a big crossover later this year. Keep an eye on developments. And finally, Sam Wilson gets a new monthly series tied to the release of Captain America: Brave New World, where he once again suits up as Captain America and gets to fight Red Hulk. Masu.
