Up-and-coming fashion talent shines at Chitkara University’s alumni fashion show ‘Emerge’

Chitkara University’s Department of Fashion Design, Chitkara Design School, recently hosted ‘Emerge Graduate Fashion Show 2024’, a dynamic showcase of creativity and innovation by emerging fashion talents. The event showcased 11 carefully selected student collections, ranging from knitwear, zero-waste design and traditional Indian textiles to fusion wear, streetwear, athleisure and avant-garde styles. Each collection highlighted a diverse design approach with an emphasis on sustainability, innovation and a fresh perspective on fashion.

The show will feature prominent industry figures, including Ujjawal Dubey, Founder and Creative Director of Antal Agni, and Yvette Joan Norsen and Javier Reyes, International Recruiters at The Walt Disney Company. was in attendance. Their presence emphasized the global reach and importance of this event. The collection was brought to life with choreography, music and production entirely controlled by the students with the guidance of their supervisors, demonstrating Chitkara University’s hands-on approach to education.

Madhu Chitkara, Managing Director, spoke about the importance of fostering creativity and innovation in fashion. She says, “Our students are trained to not only excel at design, but also to recognize the need for sustainable and forward-thinking solutions in the fashion industry. This is an opportunity to demonstrate our expertise and engage with industry leaders around the world.”

The highlight of the evening was the awarding of the Best Alumni Collection award to Anshika Gupta for her avant-garde collection ‘Altered Perspectives’. Inspired by organic architecture, Gupta’s work impresses with its unique blend of form, function and sustainable design.
