The end of the rainbow? Trump’s policy to reconstruct strange landscapes is beyond America

Another executive order, “One Flag Policy,” prohibits display of all “non-US flags” in government buildings, including pride flags. In addition to that, Trump also challenged the legal perceptions of LGBTQ+ individuals in his new executive order. The federal government only recognizes two genders, namely men and women, and declares that it leaves non-binary individuals in the quagmire.

Previously, non-binary individuals could mark “x” or “other” as the gender of federal identification documents such as passports.

Turning to sports, Trump previously sparked controversy over comments about two gold medalist athletes at the 2024 Parisiolmème, vowing to “hold men out of women’s sports.” With the latest series of executive orders, Trump has banned trans athletes from participating in women’s sports, casting a dark shadow on their future. “From now on, women’s sports will be performed exclusively for women,” he said.

As Trump continues to roll back LGBTQ+ protections, queer and civil rights groups have launched legal battles to challenge these executive orders. At the grassroots level, queer activists are holding national marching and social media campaigns using hashtags such as #EqualityForall and #Stoptherrollback.

Several corporate giants, including Apple, have reaffirmed their commitment to the DEI initiative despite federal rollbacks.
