In 2011, there was nothing wrong with Shahluk Khan. He dabbled in interesting genres, found success in almost every film, solidifying his legacy as the biggest Indian superstar on a global level. Meanwhile, he was still thinking about his most ambitious projects. It was also his most expensive film to date. At the helm of the film was Anubhav Sinha, the director of the 5-fil at the time, and against all possibilities, Ra One was made. But it is one of the biggest disappointments of Indian cinemas, and despite the voices in favor of the film, it is quieted down by the loud voice of its detractors. In an interview with Lalantop, director Anubabu, who has continued to make compelling films like Marc, Article 15, Tappad and Anek, detailed what lies behind the creation and downfall of RA 1.

“I conceptualized the film in 2005 and started writing in 2006. Of course, I was discussing the film with Shah Rukh Khan, but nothing was written about it. But in Berlin At a press conference, Shah Lukh Khan announced the project and flew to India,” Anubab said. time. “To be honest, I didn’t know if he actually said anything. I didn’t know what to say. Eight hours later, when I was able to connect with him, he simply said, ” Why hide it?” he said. ”
Anubhav agreed that the film didn’t happen the way he imagined it, but since Shah Rukh Khan never discussed the issue of money, he didn’t need to think about the budget. “He’s on the money. In fact, he doesn’t care about it at all. Of course I heard it was between 90 and 120 rupees, but I didn’t know the exact number,” Anubhav said. I said that. “I lost control of the film.”
Speaking about how Ra One is a new territory for all involved, Anubhav revealed that he was convinced of many and overwhelmed by the scale. “I spent 18 hours a day with Shah Luke Khan. I had an Italian photographer and an American VFX supervisor, and everyone knew more about films than I did. The filmmakers at Anek were Shah Anek’s filmmaker, who shared Rukh Khan’s way in words, said he assured him that he was never cast a shadow. “He’s a very intelligent person. He says that you’re the one who’s the one who’s that I knew how to impress you his decision without feeling bad about it. Of course I was consulted about everything, including casting. In fact, even bringing the acon for Chamak Chalo. , started by Vishal Shekhar. I called Shah Luk and said, “Akon Chahie” (I need Akon), and he answered, “Let’s try…” and then Shah -This is Luke Kahn. He makes things happen. ”
Looking back at Ra’s box office results, Anubhav attributed it all to his own work in the film. “Ra One was a bad movie, so it didn’t work. The script was bad. The editing was bad. Aside from the music and VFX, I fix a lot of the movie. I still have a nucleus and I believe the story was good, but the film’s ambition to appeal to everyone, and every section of the audience proved to be harmful.”
Anubhav also touched on the unsaid negativity surrounding Shah Rukh Khan and Ra One. “During the second week of that run, I realized that the film wasn’t running the way we expected. I was depressed. I reached out to Kishore Lula in London. But he assured Shah Luk Khan and he would make money from the film. Fail. “I think there were people in the film industry who wanted Shah Luk Khan to fall. I was a cinema long enough to understand that feeling of people. But yeah, when Shah Rukh Khan admitted that the film flops, it was because I betrayed the film. It was heartbreaking. I couldn’t deliver a film that he could be proud of.”
