Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (January 4, 2025) said that some people are trying to disturb peace in the name of caste politics and said that such efforts should be made to maintain social harmony in rural areas of the country. He called for the plan to be thwarted.

Gramin Bharat Mahotsav exuded confidence that villages would play a key role in promoting the dream of Vikshit Bharat by 2047.
Without mentioning names, Modi said certain people were trying to disturb peace by spreading the poison of caste politics.
“We must strive to strengthen the village’s legacy of peace and harmony,” he said.
Recalling the steps taken by the NDA government for rural development since 2014, PM Modi cited an SBI study saying that the poverty rate in rural India has come down from 26% in 2012 to less than 5%. said.
He said the previous government had neglected people living in rural India, leaving villages deprived of basic necessities even decades after independence.
However, the Prime Minister said the government is empowering villages and focusing on people who have hitherto been ignored.
Speaking on the occasion, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the bank is working to facilitate saturation of 16 government schemes including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Mudra and PM Swanidhi.
Through various discussions, workshops and masterclasses, Mahotsav aims to strengthen rural infrastructure, create a self-reliant economy and foster innovation within rural communities.
