Shilpa Shetty is busy with various projects in India, but she is yet to step foot in Hollywood. She tells us why. Read more to find out
Actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra returned to India after ringing in the New Year in London and celebrated Lohri and Makar Sankranti with her family earlier this week. Speaking about it, the 49-year-old said it was a much-needed break before a busy year that includes her much-awaited Kannada debut in KD – The Devil.

Although Shilpa is busy with various projects in India, she is yet to foray into Hollywood. It’s a surprising move considering her worldwide fame after winning season 5 of Big Brother in 2007. When I asked Shilpa about it, she laughed and said: I’m very ambitious. I am (simply) complacent and enjoying this stage of my life. I worked really hard and I’m very satisfied. So I don’t think I can go there (Hollywood) and audition. ”
In a career spanning over three decades, Shilpa has gone from commercial blockbusters like ‘Baazigar’ (1993) to ‘Life In… A Metro’ (2007) and ‘Apne’ (2007). Both have appeared in more acclaimed films like. Reflecting on her journey so far, she added: “I’ve been working for 30 years, but I don’t have the patience to start as a rookie. If you want to know my talent, go watch my old movies! If you think I fit the bill, then It doesn’t matter, I’m not auditioning for anyone!”
Emphasizing the importance of family, she said: I can’t leave my kids for that many days. I have my priorities very clear. There’s a lot going on for me here,” she concluded.
