South Korean tech giant Samsung may hold its much-awaited Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22nd (January 23rd in some regions), where the company is expected to announce the Galaxy S25 series. A leaked event invitation has already hinted at a date, while also hinting that a fourth smartphone could be unveiled during the event.
According to a recent report from South Korean news outlet Fnnews, the Galaxy S25 series will be available for purchase in South Korea on February 7, 2025, two weeks after the Unpacked event, Android Police reported.
This release schedule aligns with Samsung’s normal pre-order period for new Galaxy devices, making a February release date seem very reasonable. Pre-orders for the device in South Korea will reportedly begin on January 24th and last until February 3rd.
The report added that international markets, including the US, are expected to follow a similar pre-order schedule, with a likely launch in early February. This is in line with the release schedule for the Galaxy S24, which went on sale from January 31, 2024, following the Unpacked event on January 17, 2024.
Notably, the Galaxy S25 Ultra may come with 16GB of RAM, but only the 512GB and 1TB storage versions are likely to have this capacity. The base 256GB model will come with 12GB of RAM. The Galaxy S25 and S25+ models are expected to come with 12GB of RAM as standard, a significant upgrade over their predecessors.
In an interesting development, the tech company is also rumored to announce the Galaxy S25 Slim at the Unpacked event. The model is expected to stand out with its ultra-thin design, which could be less than 7 mm thick. A slim version will likely be revealed during the event, but the full version is expected to be released in late 2025.
