Hours after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau resigned, incoming US President Donald Trump on Monday (January 6, 2024) reiterated his proposal to make Canada the 51st US state.
Trudeau, 53, announced his resignation on Monday after the ruling Liberal Party forced him to do so amid growing unpopularity. A general election is scheduled for this year. Canada’s prime minister said he would remain in office until his party elects a new leader.

In one post, Mr. Trump mocked Mr. Trudeau as a “Canadian governor.”
