In the third and final ODI in Rajkot, Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana sent the Irish bowlers on a hide-hunt as India recorded their highest total in a women’s ODI in back-to-back matches. Days after hitting 370/3, the highest score in a women’s ODI, Mandhana’s side posted 435/5 in the series finale against Ireland at the same venue. This was India’s highest ODI total (including men’s cricket) and the fourth highest in women’s ODIs overall. The top three women’s ODI totals belong to New Zealand. India also became the third team in the history of women’s ODIs to cross the 400-run mark after New Zealand and Australia.

After electing to bat, Indian openers Mandhana and Pratika Rawal showed no mercy to the hapless Irish bowling attack. Mandhana smashed the fastest century by an Indian woman, reaching the target in just 70 balls. She hit seven sixes, the most by an Indian in a women’s ODI, and equaled Harmanpreet Kaur’s record for most sixes by an Indian in a women’s ODI (52).

She also became the first Indian woman to score 10 ODI centuries, moving her to third place on the all-time list behind Meg Lanning (15) and Susie Bates (13).
Pratika Rawal scores maiden ODI century
Mandhana’s fiery knock, with five centuries in the format since the beginning of 2024, came to an end when she was caught at fine leg trying to play a lap shot from Orla Prendergast. However, she scored 135 runs off just 80 balls at a strike rate of 168.75.
The 233-run opening stand between Mandhana and Prathika was India’s third-highest partnership for a wicket in a women’s ODI. This was Mandhana and Prathika’s fourth century stand in five innings in women’s ODIs.
Mandhana’s removal had no impact on Prathika’s march. After scoring three half-centuries in the first five ODIs, he finally reached his maiden century after completing 100 balls on Wednesday.
The young right-hander turned her maiden ODI century into a big century, finishing with 154 off 129 balls. She hit fours, 20s and a six in a brilliant knock.
Richa Ghosh, who came into bat at number three, also played a refreshing knock of 59 off 42 balls.
