Previously, this feature was expected to be removed in the iOS 18.3 update.

A report from MacRumors revealed that it will not be removed in the iOS 18.3 update.

It will arrive later with the iOS 18.4 drop.

Apple first announced Apple Intelligence during its annual WWDC in June 2024. The company then talked about Apple Intelligence features at the launch of the iPhone 16 series in September 2024. Now in 2025, Apple Intelligence features are being rolled out in stages in various regions. One feature that caught everyone’s attention was Siri’s on-screen recognition, and fans have been waiting for it. Previously, this feature was expected to be removed with the iOS 18.3 update, but now it looks like it will be delayed further.

A report from MacRumors has revealed that Siri’s on-screen recognition feature will not be removed with the iOS 18.3 update. It will arrive later with the iOS 18.4 drop.

What does iOS 18.3 include?

The iOS 18.3 beta has revealed that this update is mainly focused on minor updates. The most interesting addition of this update is the integration of the robot vacuum into the Home app. This allows users to control their cleaning equipment using Siri commands or automation. However, aside from some minor tweaks like the Image Playground icon redesign and bug fixes, this update doesn’t offer much.
iOS 18.3 is expected to be released by late January or early February.

What’s coming in iOS 18.4?

After that, the iOS 18.4 update is expected to be released in April 2025. This update may provide important updates to Apple Intelligence and Siri functionality. On-screen recognition is also rumored to be coming to iOS 18.4. This feature allows Siri to better understand your context based on what you see on screen, allowing for smarter, more accurate interactions.

In addition to on-screen recognition, iOS 18.4 may bring even more per-app Siri controls and better support for a variety of languages, including English (India), Spanish, and Vietnamese.
