Apple Cider Vinegar
Netflix
This week I recall the situation when I first saw “Beef” on Netflix in April 2023. “Oh, they need Emmy for this,” I remember thinking about that lead. Then, almost a year later, Stephen Yen and Ali Wong went to pick up the best actors and actresses in the limited series trophies at the Emmies.
Well, I’m going to call the shot again.
Another Netflix show. Another story about terrible people. Another actor I believe in is going to win Emmy a year from now. The show is Apple Cider Vinegar and the actress is Caitlyn Dever. He plays Australian influencer Belle Gibson, and has brain cancer to build a wellness brand.
It’s hard to exaggerate how much Dever throws himself into the role of a serial narcissist and a volatile liar on the show. This completely transformed from what I saw. Really, I never thought she could push herself this much.

One of the wildest parts of Dever’s performance is her near-perfect Australian accent as an American from Arizona. So, after seeing the show, the actual Australian assumes she is Australian and is surprised to find out that she is not. I’ve seen foreign actors make some pretty convincing American accents on many occasions, but the other way around isn’t often.
However, it’s not just the accent work here. It’s about Dever’s often-terrifying performance on electricity as the repulsive Bell Gibson, an influencer in the issues that life unleashed after her lies were unearthed, and she had to pay $410,000. It’s okay with discovering charity fraud. Last heard, the real-life Gibson has not paid those fines and claimed it was broken, and in 2020 and 2021 police went to her house and items related to those unpaid fines was seized.
Dever’s transformation into Belle has been nominated and believes he hasn’t seen any other shows in the next 10 months. Limited series categories. I also have an Alicia of the Walking Dead about her role in her role as Mira, an influencer with real cancer, in which she should at the same time get the best support nomination or victory. Fearing Debnam Kalay, he surprises The Walking Dead Alicia Debnam Kalay.
In fact, I believe Dever might get nominated for two Emmy Awards the same year. One is Apple Cider Vinegar, the other is a season in which she adapts part of the second game for the final season 2, where she plays Abby, the second co-lead. No, we haven’t seen her performance yet, but a) knows Dever’s abilities, b) knows what Abby’s role involves, and c) gets nominated for 24 Emmy Our final season 1, yes, I believe she is nominated. And if she’s not for apple cider vinegar, I don’t know what the awards show is even for.
