Dwyane Wade shares his passion for fashion and the latest trends
After being named to Sports Illustrated’s 50 Fashionable People list in 2017, Dwyane Wade appeared in an interview. The former basketball player spoke about his style quotient and unique taste in fashion. Wade said, while talking about how he ended up combining basketball with a little style.
“There have been moments in my career where I’ve had a theme going into the playoffs. All year long, all summer long, I’m not just aiming for one thing. I just kind of go. I just let it go. My style is what I feel like at the time. My hair is a little wavy right now, so I need to build up the look of my hair and beard.”
The Miami Heat star said while talking about his particular style during the playoffs:
“One year, in the playoffs, I did an all-red, black and white theme. Whatever it was. One year, I did an all-cardigan look. One year, all the clothes I wore were the same. It was color. When I got into Indiana, I was all orange from head to toe. One year, I wore everything gray and I was 50. It now has a gradated gray appearance.”
While talking about who inspires him the most when it comes to his fashion tastes, Wade revealed:
“There really aren’t any people like that. When I see something I like, I’m not afraid to say I did this because I saw this in someone else. I’m going to follow the trends that I like in the city. If I see a guy walking around wearing something I like, I’ll call my stylist and tell him.”
While talking about wearing shorts during Paris Fashion Week, Wade recalled:
“Last summer, I was wearing an anklet on a guy and I was trying to explain to the stylist what I wanted and how I wanted the anklet to show. At Paris Fashion Week, everyone wears shorts. But I ended up sitting next to a guy who had what I wanted on his ankles. I asked for a photo of his ankles to send to the stylist.”
Dwyane Wade is one of the basketball players who has always attracted media attention for his great fashion sense. The former NBA legend is known not only for his performance on the court, but also for his entrepreneurial business ventures.
