Before 2024 ends, southern superstar Mohanlal will make his directorial debut with Burrows, in which he plays the lead. The film, released on Christmas, is a Malayalam 3D children’s fantasy about a ghost named Burrows. For 400 years, Burrows has protected Da Gama’s treasures in Goa. Currently, he is waiting for his rightful heir to relieve him of his duties.
The multi-hyphenate personality recently sat down for an interview with Screen. During the conversation, he talked about his directorial debut and encouraged young talent and industry contemporaries to embrace innovation. Citing examples of past hit films like ‘Kalapani’ and ‘Vanaprastha’, Mohanlal said, “When we made ‘Kalapani’ (1996), it was a pan-Indian film for that time.
