Among the many players considered to be potential candidates for the 2025 MLB season, two have yet to be revealed: Pete Alonso and Corbin Burnes.
Coincidentally, both players are represented by baseball super agent Scott Boras. The agent is known for negotiating big deals for his clients, and it would be surprising to see if either Alonso or Barnes would settle for less just to sign with the team. Dew.
In a recent interview with MLB Network, official Mark Feinsand addressed the potential destinations for Alonso and Barnes.

Feinsand said the chances of Pete Alonso signing with multiple clubs have decreased dramatically. This is due to recent market developments, including the New York Yankees’ acquisition of Paul Goldschmidt and the Houston Astros’ signing of Christian Walker.
“Alonso’s market has shrunk quite a bit. … But the (Seattle) Mariners still have a chance,” Feinsand said.

However, sources noted that Seattle may need to move several players, including starter Luis Castillo, to make room for Alonso’s big contract. He then touted the opinion of agents and pundits that the star first baseman might actually re-sign with the New York Mets.
“Agents and experts around the league think Pete Alonso will come back to the Mets. I think he’ll probably go back to the Mets. The question is what the deal will look like. …The Mets certainly “It seems like the most logical place to land,” he added.

Corbin Burnes seeks ‘Strasburg-like’ MLB contract
MLB insider Mark Feinsand also spoke about Scott Boras’ other client, Corbin Burnes, seeking a contract similar to that of former Washington Nationals ace Stephen Strasburg. He added that
“Corbin Burnes is looking for a contract similar to Stephen Strasburg,” Feinsand said.

Feinsand was involved in Strasburg’s seven-year, $245 million contract with the Nationals after the Nationals opted out of his original five-year, $175 million deal after just three seasons.
The baseball journalist also said the San Francisco Giants and Toronto Blue Jays are discussing terms with Barnes for a potential transfer.
He added, “We have an offer from the (San Francisco) Giants, but we haven’t agreed on a price yet. The Blue Jays have also expressed interest in Barnes.”
