The allegations center on an incident that allegedly took place at the Caseya Center during the 2023 NBA Finals, and have sent both the basketball franchise and the mixed martial arts star into a legal battle.
An anonymous woman has filed a lawsuit in Florida alleging McGregor sexually assaulted her during an NBA Finals game. The sexual assault lawsuit also accuses the Miami Heat and arena staff of negligence, particularly in providing Conor McGregor with too much alcohol despite visible signs of intoxication. According to the submitted documents, “On Tuesday night, an anonymous woman filed a lawsuit in Florida alleging that McGregor sexually assaulted her at a 2023 NBA game. is named as a defendant for excessive servicing.”
The sexual assault lawsuit seeks more than $75,000 in damages to cover medical bills, legal fees and other related costs. The woman claims McGregor’s drunken behavior, facilitated by the carelessness of arena staff, caused the incident.

This legal claim has garnered a lot of attention considering Conor McGregor’s history of controversial behavior. A report from *Front Office Sports* highlights the seriousness of the situation, noting that: “Arena security continued to provide alcohol to an obviously inebriated McGregor even after McGregor sent the mascot to the hospital.”
The development comes at a time when the Heat are already garnering attention for their on-court performance and ongoing drama involving star player Jimmy Butler. The Heat made their second appearance in the 2023 NBA Finals in four years, but ultimately fell short against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. Despite the loss, the event is currently controversial due to allegations related to McGregor’s conduct during the final.
Legal experts are closely monitoring the case as it raises questions about liability at sports stadiums and the responsibility of staff managing high-profile guests. The lawsuit focuses on McGregor’s excessive drinking, sparking debate over event management and liability.
