Today, Google Cloud announced Automotive AI Agent, a new way for automakers to create useful generative AI experiences. Built using Gemini and Vertex AI, Automotive AI Agent is specifically tailored to help automakers create highly personalized and intuitive in-vehicle agents that go beyond current vehicle voice control. The ability to provide multimodal reasoning and multilingual support enables assistants to have natural conversations and agentic responses such as “Is there an Italian restaurant near me?” You can also ask follow-up questions like, “Does the restaurant have good reviews?” or “What is the most popular dish there?”
Mercedes-Benz was one of the first automakers to implement an automotive AI agent in its MBUX virtual assistant, which will be introduced in the new Mercedes-Benz CLA later this year. Powered by the MBUX virtual assistant, which delivers fresh, fact-based information from Google Maps Platform, drivers and passengers can use voice commands to receive comprehensive, personalized information about points of interest, traffic conditions, and more within seconds. You will be able to obtain it. Google Cloud’s Automotive AI Agent also enables the MBUX virtual assistant to handle complex multi-turn interactions and remember conversations so drivers can stop and start talking and pick up where they left off. You will be able to do it. Learn more about Automotive AI Agent and our partnership with Mercedes Benz.
