German apparel and footwear brand Adidas is set to enter Formula 1 as a kit supplier to the Mercedes F1 team in a multi-year partnership announced on Tuesday for a new post-Lewis Hamilton era.
Puma previously partnered with the once-dominant team, which finished fourth overall in Hamilton’s last season with the team. Hamilton, who celebrated his 40th birthday on Tuesday, will race for Ferrari in 2025.

The deal with Adidas was expected and had already been the focus of media reports after images of the brand’s apparel were leaked last year.
Mercedes said specially designed kits will also be available to fans, with limited editions planned throughout the year.
The range includes apparel, footwear and accessories and is expected to be unveiled next month before the season starts in Australia on March 16.
“Our partnership with Adidas is a clear statement of intent as we begin to write our next chapter as a team,” Mercedes boss Toto Wolff said in a statement.
Hamilton was replaced by 18-year-old Italian rookie Kimi Antonelli, who will partner George Russell.
Last season, Mercedes also partnered with fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger, of which Hamilton is an ambassador.
