Blogger Meghan McCain has slammed Duchess Meghan for her new Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan.” She said the upcoming series is “completely and completely tone-deaf.” ALSO READ: Meghan Markle accuses new Netflix series of mocking ‘Americans who can’t even pay their grocery bills’

Duchess Meghan's new Netflix series has drawn criticism for depicting luxury in a time of economic hardship.

Meghan McCain criticizes Meghan Markle

McCain, the daughter of the late Sen. John McCain, wasn’t thrilled about the upcoming show. This lifestyle series combines cooking, gardening, and homemaking how-tos with candid conversations with special guests like Mindy Kaling, Roy Choi, and Prince Harry.

McCain slammed the series on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying it was “completely tone-deaf at this point.”

“I was originally a supporter of Meghan Markle. I thought she was cool, stylish and refreshing. Like the rest of the world, when she disrespected the royal family, my opinion changed. Now she wants to be an American again instead of a British aristocrat, but she seems to forget that Americans want the real, raw, uncensored. , highly curated, produced, and out of the ordinary,” McCain wrote.

She added, “Two terrorist attacks in two days, a major war raging, and Americans unable to pay for their groceries. We are in a moment of anger, uncertainty, and rage. This is an unwise concept. I would have told you to do a show delivering fresh food to local food deserts. Do something to help people, not your own ego. This is why the world doesn’t like you. It’s nothing else. It makes you completely tone-deaf.”

About the series

Markle originally debuted the trailer for the Netflix series on Instagram. She writes: I hope you love this show as much as I loved making it. I hope everyone has a wonderful new year! Thank you to the wonderful staff and team at Netflix. I can’t thank you enough for your support, and it’s so much fun!”

Directed by Michael Steed, With Love, Meghan Markle consists of eight 33-minute episodes. It is produced by Markle and Harry’s Archewell Productions and Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC), part of Sony Pictures Television.

The show’s official plot description reads: “Produced by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, this inspiring series reimagines the lifestyle TV genre by blending practical how-tos with candid conversations with friends old and new. Duchess Meghan values playfulness and individuality over perfection. She shares her personal tips and tricks, highlighting how easy it is to create beauty even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, garden, and beyond, and you too. I invite you to do the same.” The show will be available on Netflix on January 15th.
