The Croatian player previously played with the Portuguese megastar at Real Madrid.

Luka Modric opted for a final six-man line-up without Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. An experienced midfielder from Croatia, Modric will always be remembered as one of the greatest players of his generation.

After establishing himself in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid reportedly paid £30 million to sign him in 2012.

Since then, the midfielder has made 563 appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos, scoring 41 goals. Moreover, Modric has played alongside some of the world’s top footballers, including Toni Kroos, Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Ronaldo.

Modric ignored Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo when asked about his ideal six-a-side team. Modric, who has played with the Spaniard 63 times, opted to start Madrid great Iker Casillas as goalkeeper.

He told icons.com: “It’s a difficult choice, but for me it’s easy, because I played with him, it’s Iker.”He’s not just because he played with me, he’s one of the best players of all time. ”

Moving on to defenders, Modric had to choose between two players, but said: “For me, I would choose Roberto Carlos, who is probably the best left-back of all time.”

“This is between (Fabio) Cannavaro and (Paolo) Maldini. Cannavaro, Golden Ball, everything, world champion. But I’ll go with Maldini.”

Modric named Andres Iniesta, Roberto Baggio and David Beckham in midfield before making his final pick.

“It’s very difficult because there are only two midfielders allowed in the team,” Modric said. You can’t go wrong with many things, but for me it’s (Diego) Maradona and Zizou (Zinedine Zidane). All of them are tops, but I choose these two. ”

Finally, Modric chose Brazilian superstar Ronaldo Nazario as his attacker over Ronaldo and Messi.

He explained: “For me, it’s between[Cristiano]Ronaldo and Ronaldo. I played with one and this (the latter) was my favorite as a kid. I fell in love with his game. And… that’s amazing. There’s also Romario, Messi, and Pele, but I’m going to choose Ronaldo. Sorry, Chris!
