LA fires: Disney pledges $15 million, Paramount donates $1 million to relief efforts

Los Angeles Fires: As the wildfires continue in Los Angeles, the Walt Disney Company says it will support organizations providing services there.

The company has pledged to donate $15 million “for initial and immediate response and rebuilding efforts,” The Hollywood Reporter reported.

These funds will be donated to the American Red Cross, Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, and other organizations.

“As this tragedy continues to unfold, the Walt Disney Company remains committed to supporting our communities and employees as we all work together to recover and rebuild from this incredible devastation,” the report said. “We will,” Disney CEO Bob Iger was quoted as saying.

“Walt Disney came to Los Angeles with a boundless imagination. Here he built his home, pursued his dreams, and created extraordinary storytelling that meant so much to so many people around the world. We are proud to provide support to this resilient and vibrant community during this difficult time,” added Iger.

Los Angeles Fires: Permount Donation

Meanwhile, Paramount Global co-heads Brian Robbins, Chris McCarthy, and George Cheeks said the company will donate $1 million to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, Cal Fire Foundation, the Red Cross, direct relief organizations, and governments around the world. I wrote a note to the staff saying I would donate. Central Kitchen and Best Friends Animal Society, according to the report.

“As massive wildfires continue to burn across parts of Los Angeles, causing extensive damage to families, homes, and communities, our hearts go out to everyone affected by this tragedy, especially those evacuated. We sympathize with those who have lost their homes or lost their homes,” Paramount executives said in the report.

He also said that KCAL, one of the local stations, has already raised more than $300,000 for relief efforts, and that Paramount Pictures and CBS teams have begun donating meals to first responders.

Comedy Central’s The Daily Show donated to the California Fire Foundation, and BET covered the fire’s devastating impact on Altadena’s historic black community, the report said.

A massive wildfire in Los Angeles has claimed the lives of 11 people and left 13 people missing, according to the BBC. The exact cause of the fire is not yet clear.
