In a conversation with the Hindustan Times, Kaveri and Vardhan revealed their experiences with filmmaker Kunal, known for directing hit romantic dramas like Fanaa and Hum Tum. Kunal also shared how Bobby Aurishi Ki’s love story differed from previous romantic films, explaining why he chose Kaveli and Bardan as the lead.

Kaveri shared that working with Kunal Kohli was an incredible experience and that she exploded on set. She said, “I’ve never acted before, but I think he really understood my personality and guided me in a way that allowed me to do my best. That’s what I meant. Speaking about the casting process, Kunal Kohli remembered meeting Kaveli and her father in Mauritius, revealing what he chose her for the role. He said, “There was an event, and I was talking to Shekal (Kapoor), and she was with a friend. She just walked, scolded Shekal and left like a daughter. My daughter will do this to me, the time has come! In her defense, Kaveli added that her father was very irrational and her screams were justified.
He continued, “One of the producers, Vardhan sent me his profile. When I saw it, I thought this guy would really fit her (Kaveri) well.” I called him and in ten minutes he was there. I was observing that Yash Ji always stayed with me, how he was as a person. I wanted to see if they had exchanged. 20/20.
