Jessica Pegula revealed one of the craziest experiences she had with a fan. She said it was strange having to sign photos from her wedding to husband Taylor Gahagen.
The American player failed to advance beyond the third round after appearing in the WTA Finals, ending his 2024 season. Her match against Coco Gauff was canceled as she withdrew due to a left knee injury. She was scheduled to start the 2025 season by competing at the Brisbane International, but was unable to compete as she was not fully fit.
Pegula is now ready to start the season by competing at the Adelaide International. At a pre-tournament press conference, she was asked about one of her craziest experiences with fans. She revealed that she once had to sign a wedding photo, but then a fan kept it and the player thought it was weird.
“Well, I think with the fans, I signed a printout of my wedding photo, my wedding photo, in Asia. I’ve never done anything like that before. Then they kept it in storage, which was strange for sure. ‘I think that was China,’ Pegula said.
Pegula also shared some crazy things he experienced with his players.
“So what about the players? I mean, I don’t know. I think we’ve had a lot of crazy travel experiences with our players, missing flights, missing trips. It’s just kind of chaotic.” Both have similar travel schedules and are consumed when you’re on flights between tournaments, but you have to think a lot about the players, which was certainly weird. ”
Jessica Pegula married her husband Taylor Gahagen in 2021 after six years of dating.

At the aforementioned press conference, Jessica Pegula opened up about her injury. She revealed the status of her knee injury and that the opening game was postponed because the knee needed an extra week to recover.
“Happy New Year everyone. It’s great to be here in Adelaide. I had a great off-season. I was out in Saudi battling a little knee injury, so I felt like it went well. But I needed an extra week, so I stopped playing in Brisbane and started here instead,” Jessica Pegula said.
She added:
“Ah, but I feel great. Everything is fine. I enjoyed a good vacation and I’m ready to start the 2025 season.”
Jessica Pegula’s women’s singles match at the Adelaide International is scheduled to take place on January 8, but the participants have not yet been determined. Her doubles match is scheduled for January 6th, when she will partner Ashlyn Krueger and face Jelena Ostapenko and Xie Su-wei.
