The Los Angeles Dodgers continued to strengthen in the offseason after defeating the New York Yankees in October’s Fall Classic to win their eighth World Series title.
The Dodgers brought back All-Star outfielder Teoscar Hernandez on Friday, reportedly agreeing to a three-year, $66 million contract. The deal also includes a $15 million club option through 2028.
MLB analyst Matt Snyder shared some insight on the Dodgers bringing back Hernandez after the team’s best season of his career in 2024, which culminated with a World Series win.

He said this (after 0:50):
“It’s a very win-win deal, just like last year’s deal. He really came into his own, had a career year on a one-year deal, took a bet on himself and won. And now he’s on a three-year deal. Tied for $66 million, a great cleanup man in the Dodgers batting lineup, you know, they have three MVPs up top: Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman.
“His value helped the Dodgers win the World Series, and now he’s back with this deal, back in the cleanup position, right behind Ohtani, Betts and Freeman before they reach the back half of the standings.” Muncy, Smith and Edman fit very well in that lineup, and the Dodgers don’t need to spend more than three years there.
