New Delhi: The first UFC flagship event took place on Sunday January 20th at the Intuit Dome Arena in Inglewood. The UFC Lightweight Champion and Bantamweight Champion defended their titles at UFC 311, with both retaining their respective titles.
Islam Makhachev headlined the UFC 311 event against Renato Moicano. This match was scheduled just one day before the event due to Arman Tsarukyan pulling out of the fight due to a back injury. Islam is estimated to have generated about 2.16 crores from the fight against Moicano.
Instead of main eventing the first UFC pay-per-view of 2025, Islam was the fourth-highest paid fighter on the card. He also delivered many ruthless performances despite only making around 2.16 crores.
Meanwhile, Bantamweight Champion Merab Dvalishvili was the highest paid fighter on the UFC 311 card as he received a massive payout of around 4.75 kron from his fight with UMAR Nurmagomedov. Dvalishvili was the co-main eventer and also the underdog of the fight.
Nurmagomedov entered the fight with a perfect record of 18-0, but the champion came out on top in the fight and secured a memorable victory in his professional career.
Jiri Prochazka, who surprised everyone in the arena with his TKO against Jamahar Hill, received the second highest salary of the night as he secured around 2.59 crores. Milton Almeida also took home a massive check after a first round knockout against Sergey Spivak. He made around 2.33 crores from the event.
Dvalishvili, Prochazka, and Almeida impressed Dana White with their performance and received compensation of approximately 43 million rupees. They all won Performance of the Night Awards.
Compared to champion status, Islamic pay is low for champions. Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira earned nearly 26 Crores from his last title defense and now Islam has earned just 2.16 Crores from his latest title defense.
After the event, Islam announced that June/July would see the return of International Fight Week.
