Anuja advances to Oscars

The nominations for the 97th Academy Awards were announced Thursday by Bowen Yang and Rachel Sennott.

Of the 180 films that qualified for the Best Live-Action Short Film category, only five made it into the race to win the trophy. Anuja is nominated alongside Alien, I’m Not a Robot, The Last Ranger and The Man Who Won’t Shut Up.

This is Guneet’s third Oscar nomination. Her earlier projects The Elephant Whisperers and Period: End of Sentent won Oscars and brought glory to Indian cinema.

Conan O’Brien will host the 2025 Oscars ceremony for the first time. The 97th Oscar Awards Ceremony will be held on March 2nd at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

About Anuja

The story revolves around the 9-year-old protagonist who works in a back alley garment factory with her older sister Palak. The story follows a young protagonist as he faces decisions that affect both his future and his family. Adam J. Graves called the film a “heartfelt tribute to the resilience and untold stories of working children.”

Directed by Adam J. Graves. This movie is available to stream on Netflix. It was produced by Adam’s wife Suchitra Matthai. The live-action film has Priyanka Chopra, Mindy Kaling and Academy Award winner Guneet Monga among its backers.

The film was produced by Shine Global, the company known for the Academy Award-winning films “War/Dance” (2007) and “Innocent,” and Salam, a non-profit organization run by Meera Nair’s family that supports street and working children.・Produced in collaboration with Barrack Trust (SBT). 2012) – and Kulshan Naik Films. Starring Ananya Shanbhag, Sajida Parsan, and Nagesh Bhosle. The release date of ‘Anuja’ has not been announced yet.
