1stDibs released its Luxury E-Commerce Report on Wednesday, providing insights into the platform’s 2024 data and analysis.

Notably, Gucci’s fur “Chubby” by Tom Ford in 1997 was the platform’s top fashion sale, and John Galliano’s newspaper dress for Christian Dior garnered more than 200,000 views.
In the handbag category, orders for Bottega Veneta rose 76% year-on-year, with Matthew Blasey’s designs such as Calimero and Andiamo driving demand during his tenure as creative director.
Hermès continued to reign as the best-selling brand, with orders increasing by 57%. Burgundy has emerged as a top color for Fall/Winter 2024, reflecting the ‘unexpected red theory’ which suggests that accents of red can enhance both interiors and fashion.
Traditional brands such as Tiffany & Co., Cartier, and Van Cleef & Arpels led the way in the jewelry category, with Tiffany & Co. achieving a 41% increase in orders. Elsa Peretti’s designs have become popular again. Opals also saw strong growth, with orders increasing by 32%, securing a spot in the top five gems for 2024.
Rolex dominates the watch category, accounting for three of the top five best-selling styles and reaffirming its appeal among collectors and enthusiasts.
