Grok, an AI assistant developed by Elon Musk’s xAI, has officially released its beta version for iOS. iPhone and iPad users can now download Grok for free and access xAI’s latest model, Grok 2. Yes, this is available in the Canadian App Store.
The app combines advanced AI with a conversational tone to provide a unique experience. In addition to answering questions, Grok also generates images, analyzes uploaded photos, and retrieves real-time information from the web and X. The app also supports iOS Control Center, Lock Screen, Siri, and Shortcuts.
Here’s what you can do with the standalone Grok AI chatbot for iPhone and iPad:
Image generation: Create high-quality visuals using Grok’s AI tools. Real-time updates: Always have the latest data from X and other web sources. Engaging interactions: Grok’s conversational and humorous approach makes learning fun. Designed with privacy in mind: User data is handled securely in accordance with xAI’s Privacy Policy.
In September, the xAI team brought online a Colossus training cluster consisting of 100,000 Nvidia H100 Tensor Core GPUs. Essentially what xAI calls is the most powerful AI training system in existence. It went online in just 122 days from start to finish. Musk said last fall that xAI plans to double Colossus’ training size to 200,000 GPUs by adding 50,000 Nvidia H200 GPUs.
Grok’s biggest feature is the ability to search for real-time posts on X. So you can find news about everything from sports, entertainment, politics, etc. on the fly.
