LAHORE: Jailed former prime minister Imran Khan has announced yet another protest, this time a civil disobedience movement, asking the Pakistani diaspora to boycott remittances if their demands are not met by Sunday. Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has launched several protests demanding his release, the latest in November 2024.
Khan, 72, raised two main demands in a lengthy post on his official X handle on Thursday. These include the release of political prisoners pending trial and the establishment of a judicial commission to transparently investigate the incidents of May 9, 2023 and November 26, 2024.
