One of the most unique animated films in recent years surprised viewers by winning Best Animated Picture at this year’s 82nd Golden Globe Awards. Self-produced flow
The film, which has no dialogue and tells the story of a herd of small animals trying to survive a deluge, beat out Disney and Pixar to win the award, and director and screenwriter Gintz Zylbarodis was the creative team behind the film. He praised the award and thanked the Golden Globe Award. For “embracing our little cat movie.”

“This film is being made by a very small, young, but passionate team in a place where there is no big film industry. This is the first time a Latvian film has come here, so this is very important to us. It’s a big thing.

“This is a very personal story for me because I worked alone. I made all the films myself, but this time I worked with a team. Flow I had to learn how to trust others, how to work together, and how to overcome differences. I now think it’s very important to remember this, this. Thank you for accepting our little cat movie.”

Flo (Straume in Latvian), written and directed by Gints Zylvalodis, is the director of animated blockbusters Moana 2 and Inside Head 2, as well as Memoirs of a Snail, Wild Robot, and Wallace. Defeated Gromit: The Deadliest Bird of Revenge.

MovieWeb’s Julian Roman praised Flow at the time, calling it a “great animated adventure that warms the soul.”

The simple setting opens the eyes to escape from the floods that inundate the countryside. We’re chasing a wide-eyed black cat as our feline protagonist joins him on a Noah’s Ark-like journey with a deep spiritual and mystical vibe. You soon realize that you are not alone.”
