The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has entered into a partnership with ITC, a conglomerate that handles everything from cigarettes to consumer products, to support manufacturing startups, according to a statement on Wednesday.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed for this purpose, ITC’s experience and expertise in market networking will complement DPIIT’s efforts in supporting startups across the country.
Under this partnership, ITC will deploy startup solutions in key areas such as digital platforms for manufacturing execution systems, integrating renewable energy opportunities for manufacturing sites, and energy storage systems.
Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, Director, Startup India, said this will provide hassle-free market access to startups and unlimited opportunities to derive viable solutions as per the business requirements of the organization.
Mr. Anil Rajput, President, Corporate Affairs, ITC, said, “We are focusing on digital to enhance future-readiness and operational excellence in manufacturing, and in renewable energy to expand sustainable ITC.” We will focus on that.”
DPIIT Joint Secretary Sanjiv said, “We look forward to fostering scalable solutions and innovative growth to ensure a favorable environment for startups.”
