Today, DC announced plans for its Summer of Superman publishing initiative. Featuring an incredible lineup of comics and graphic novels for fans of all ages, Summer of Superman celebrates the Man of Steel’s enduring legacy as a pop culture icon and symbol of truth, justice, and hope. A celebration of his legacy and his first comic book. Appeared in the historic Action Comics #1 in 1938.
Summer of Superman Special #1 – April 16th
Before breaking into the DC Universe with Superman Unlimited, acclaimed author Dan Slott collaborated with storytelling stalwarts Mark Waid (Justice League Unlimited, Batman/Superman: World’s Finest) and Joshua Williamson. (“Superman,” “DC All In Special”), joins Jorge Jimenez (“Batman”). , Super Sons)’s Summer of Superman Special arrives at participating comic book shops and digital retailers on Wednesday, April 16th.
In this oversized issue, Slott, Wade, and Williamson tell one story in three acts. It highlights the dynamic art style that made Jimenez a favorite of comic book fans around the world. Lana Lang and John Henry Irons (aka Steele)’s wedding serves as a backdrop to the outpouring of love and support from family and friends. But their big day will also be in trouble, as threats from the past, present, and future create a major new conflict for the Superman family.

Just as Superman and Superwoman are recovering from their battle with the Time Trapper and Doomsday, their biggest problem returns when Superman #25 hits comic book stores on April 23rd. Lex Luthor gets DC All-In in return and is ready to fight for control of the world. Supercorp and Metropolis. Written by Joshua Williamson, this large (48 page) issue features series artists Dan Mora (Justice League Unlimited, Batman/Superman: World’s Finest) and Eddie Burrows (action・Comics), with art by Ever Ferreira (Action Comics, Action Comics Presents). Doomsday Special) celebrates the past two years of Superman, connects to Summer of Superman Special #1, and sets up an all-new storyline featuring Superman’s greatest enemy.
Mora offers a wraparound main cover for Superman #25, as well as variant covers from the giant figure in comic book art, Includes Guillem March, Jeff Decal, Rafael Grassetti, Dave Johnson, Laura Braga, Fico Osio, and an April Fool’s cover by Dan Hipp.

Superman’s Good Guy Gang – July 1st
Summer of Superman will see the first appearance of Superman’s Good Guy Gang on July 1st. The first in a multi-volume series, this graphic novel is the perfect introduction for early readers ages 5 to 7 to discover the wonderful world of DC’s Super Heroes. Superman’s Good Guy Gang is written and illustrated by Death and Sparkles creator Rob Justus and follows eight-year-old Clark Kent and his super-powered friends. Introducing Hawkgirl and Green Lantern Guy Gardner to readers as they test their abilities, grow together, and maybe even earn some good guy points along the way. Future books in the series will include popular DC superheroes Batman, Wonder Woman, Mister Terrific, and more.
Action Comics #1085 – April 9th
“Superman Superstars” concludes with Action Comics #1085, released on April 9th. The first part of this two-part story, written by G. Willow Wilson and featuring art by Gavin Gidley, is the real deal with Superman. Lois Lane sends the Man of Steel to a scientific outpost in the Arctic to investigate new technology that promises to stop global warming. However, when Superman arrives, he quickly learns that the outpost is haunted by a villain who plans to melt any hope of humanity’s survival. Includes the main cover by Brad Walker and variation covers by Davide Paratore, Curry Hamner, and Danny Earls.
