Investing.com – UK shares fell after the close on Friday, with sector losses leading the decline in share prices.

It was down 0.43% at the London close.

The best performer of the session was Shell PLC (LON:), rising 1.56% or 39.50 points to close at 2,566.50. meanwhile, blood pressure PLC (LON:) added 1.19% or 4.80 points to end at 407.95; Pershing Square Holdings Co., Ltd. (LON:) rose 1.15% (46.00 points) to 4,034.00 in late trading.

The worst performer in the session was diageo PLC (LON:) fell 3.89% or 99.00 points to close at 2,448.50. persimmon PLC (LON:) fell 3.76% or 44.50 points to end at 1,139.50 and Barratt Redrow PLC (LON:) fell 3.24% or 14.10 points to end at 420.50.

Declining issues outnumbered advancing issues on the London Stock Exchange by 939 to 816, with 658 issues ending unchanged.

Persimmon PLC (LON:) stock falls to a 52-week low. It fell 3.76% (44.50) to 1,139.50.

Gold futures for February delivery fell 0.51%, or $13.59, to $2,655.41 per troy ounce. In other commodity trading, crude oil for February delivery rose 1.23%, or $0.90, to $74.03 per barrel, and Brent crude oil contract for March rose 0.76%, or $0.58, to $76.51 per barrel. It was traded at.

GBP/USD was unchanged at 1.24, an increase of 0.39%, and EUR/GBP was unchanged at 0.83, an increase of 0.00%.

Dollar index futures fell 0.41% to 108.76.
