Currently, the top 10 of Amazon Prime Video’s movie charts are completely dominated by Christmas movies. Unfortunately, new additions are in a dead zone until January 1st. So in the meantime, you’ll have to dig a little deeper into Prime Video’s movie library for this week’s selections.
Coincidentally, both of the ones we chose date from the late 1990s. Our first choice is Dark City, a sci-fi thriller championed by the late critic Roger Ebert. In second place was LA Confidential, a beautifully realized historical thriller that would have likely won the Best Picture Oscar had it not competed with James Cameron’s Titanic. Anyway, it’s a modern classic in this genre.
