Bengaluru’s Basabeshwara Nagar police arrested a man who was allegedly tempted a businessman to invest in a casino in Sri Lankan on Saturday and cheated Rs 25. Ramakrishna Rao, a resident of the accused Banashankari, is the father of Rahul Son, who was previously arrested in the famous Sandalwood Drug Case.
Rao, appointed as a defendant in the FIR, has been detained and his son Rahul is listed as the four accused, but remains in the whole. Police suspect he is hiding in Sri Lanka. The incident also involves Rao’s wife Rajeshwari, daughter Raksha Song and son-in-law Chetan Narayan. The defendant is charged on Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita’s 316(2) (Criminal Violation) and 318(4) (Fraud) along with violation of the prohibition of the unregulated deposit system law.
According to Vivek P Hegde, a resident of Basaveshwara Nagar, the fraud occurred between February 7, 2023 and February 4, 2025. Hegde claimed that Rao, Rahul and Raksha had invested 25.5 Kroules where he and his companions were absent. Casino business.
At the first meeting on February 7, 2023, Rao is said to have stated that Raksha and Chetan own casino tables in Bellagio Colombo, Sri Lanka, and that Rahul is overseeing the operation. Following multiple conversations with Chetan, Hegde is said to have transferred Rs 300,000 to Rahul on March 18, 2023.
On April 22, 2023, Hegde and his companions visited Sri Lanka, where Rahul was said to have performed elaborate hoaxes and hired staff to pose as casino staff. He introduces himself as a casino owner and boasts luxurious perks, including access to private chefs and casino-owned cars.
Believing Rahul’s claim, Hegde is said to have personally invested Rs 3.50 and further promoted Rs 22 from his friends. He later discovered Rahul’s involvement in a past Sandalwood Drug incident, FIR said.
