A recent Batman DCU preview confirmed a story beat that will please many fans of the Caped Crusader.
I love Batman, and along with Wolverine, he’s my favorite comic book character. But I’m sick to death of the original story where his stupid parents took a shortcut in the ominously named “Crime Alley” and not only was he robbed at gunpoint, but he also lost his life. Masu.

Just as Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider, most of us don’t need to know the origin story of Bruce Wayne or what motivated him to become Batman. This is one of the reasons I love 2022’s The Batman starring Robert Pattinson, who is the Dark Knight from the get-go, without giving away his origins.
As part of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DCU, we’re dealing with a new Batman movie that’s its substance, but it has nothing to do with the aforementioned Batman.
Instead, as the film’s name suggests, Batman: The Brave and the Bold takes inspiration from the popular animated series in which Bruce Wayne teams up with his son Damian, aka Robin, the Boy Wonder. It becomes the one obtained.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold is in the early stages of production, so we don’t know the story, who will be starring in it, or even the exact release date. That being said, James Gunn has confirmed at least one important detail related to that plot.
As reported by comicbookmovie.com, director James Gunn has confirmed that Batman: The Brave and the Bold will not have an origin story.
“Just like when you watch the Superman movies, you see that he (Batman) already exists in this universe, that Superman already exists and that he is already known to the people of Metropolis.” said Coach Gunn.
He continued: “We don’t need to hear the origin story again. It’s just a way to introduce that Batman is part of this world.”
In other words, there is no origin story for Bruce Wayne in Batman: The Brave and the Bold. As for “Superman,” it is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 11, 2025.
