Amber Heard landed her new acting gig. This time it’s a theatre production. The actress has been set to return to the stage and marks her first acting role since the highly publicized honour-loss trial involving her ex-husband Johnny Depp. Heard has joined the ensemble cast of Spirit of the People, a new play by acclaimed playwright Jeremy O. Harris, which premiered at the Williamstown Theatre Festival this July.Confirming the subject of her new acting stint, she shared a selfie with the director, saying, “My theatre era x.”The production brings together a diverse cast that includes “13 Reasons,” including “stars Brandon Flynn, At Blankson Wood, James Kusati Moyer, Amandra Jahava, Emma Ramos, Julian Sanchez, Zachary Booth, Tonachiu and Rio Mehiel.”According to Independence, the play explores “the unpleasant truth about the land and the meaning of destroying it,” according to official overview.Heard’s return to the spotlight comes two years after she ended in a legal battle with Depp. The couple filed for divorce in 2017 after filing for separation citing domestic abuse allegations, but the issue attracted new attention in 2022 when Depp sued a 2018 Washington Post sales representative for slander, which he described as a survivor of sexual violence. Although this article was not named Depp, his legal team claimed it implied that he was “wife beater.”The trial lasted six weeks and was livestreamed worldwide, and ended with a ju judge in favor of Depp, giving him millions of damages.Heard’s return to acting also comes after she announces the birth of her twins. I heard that on Mother’s Day 2025, they shared photos of their feet and announced that they had welcomed a daughter named Agnes and a son named Ocean. She also has an owner, a daughter born in 2021, so she will become a mother of three.
