“Love Island USA” reached the highest viewer ever in the week of July 7-13, reaching 1.9 billion minutes. That total not only is it a high series in the Peacock Reality Dating series, but the Peacock Show reached number one in Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings for the first time.
Nielsen only measures US television screens. This means that viewers in other countries and mobile devices are not included in this tally. Furthermore, it is important to note that instead of separating the totals by season, Nielsen combines all viewers of the show into a total of one total. That is, viewers for seasons 1-6 will be considered within one week. Still, it is estimated that the majority of viewership ratings come from the currently airing season. Nielsen also premiered on June 3rd, and through the run of season 7, which concluded that “Love Island USA” had a total of 8.8 billion minutes of viewers on July 13th, with 54% of its viewers coming from adults aged 18-34. This is the biggest show among adults under the age of 35 by “significant margins,” according to Nielsen.
Viewer records coincided with the final week of season 7, with episodes 31-36 unfolding throughout the viewer’s window. In the finale, which aired on July 13th, Amaya Espinal won the season and chose to split the $100,000 prize with partner Brian Arenares.
