When conflicting reports emerged over the weekend over the alleged “elimination” of Iran’s nuclear sites during a US strike, Donald Trump found support for France’s Emmanuel Macron as the French president said the bombing was “really effective.” Emmanuel Macron also warned of “worst-case scenarios” if Tehran terminates its current global non-proliferation treaty.
After the EU summit in Brussels, Macron said, “The worst is that this will result in Iran being withdrawn from the non-proliferation treaty, and ultimately drifting and weakening of the collective.”
He added that the purpose is that there should be no “reopening” nuclear accumulation by Iran after the US attacks.
The French president also said he will speak to five members of the UN Security Council (UNSC) to maintain the treaty aimed at limiting the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
These talks already began on Thursday, June 26th with a call with President Donald Trump. Macron said Paris informed US counterparts of their contact with Tehran “in the last few days and times.”
“Our hope is that there is a real convergence of opinions,” Emmanuel Macron said.

Iran joined the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) in 1970 and committed to the International Atomic Energy Agency to declare nuclear materials. However, he has recently begun preparing grounds for the possibility of withdrawal from the treaty, accusing him of acting as a “partner” in Israel’s “war on attacks.”
The US is attacked by Iran’s nuclear site
Last weekend, the American B-2 bomber collided with two Iranian nuclear sites equipped with a massive GBU-57 bunkerbuster bomb, with a guided missile submarine attacking the third site with a Tomahawk cruise missile. Although Donald Trump has in power, he claims that military action is “success” and will lead to “elimination” of nuclear facilities, but a leaked preliminary Intel report suggests that this is not the case.
A leaked preliminary US intelligence report on the assessment of Donald Trump’s strike against Iran’s nuclear facility concluded that the bombing did not destroy the nuclear program, but only retreated a few months, contrary to the president’s claims.
Moreover, despite the strike and little damage, Tehran claims it can resume its nuclear program within months, despite the maintenance of Iran’s nuclear site.
The report also revealed that Iran will relocate a significant portion of the highly enriched uranium used to make nuclear weapons before the strike and relocate to other secret nuclear sites.
